Date and Time

Sunday, July 4, 2010. The first swimmer will hit the water at 7:30 AM. The Transition area will open at 5:30 AM. Race management reserves the right to modify or shorten the race course in the case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, and to accept or reject any entry. No transfers, substitutions. The minimum age to compete is 13.

Athletes MUST pick up their packets on either Thursday evening (July 1st), from 5-8 PM at Sunrise Tri Bike Shop in West Babylon, NY or on Sunday (July 4th), at Eisenhower Park on race morning. Check in at the park will be held next to the transition area.

Parking Details

Please park in the designated parking lots inside Eisenhower Park.

The Swim Course

The 500 meter pool swim is done by swimming in a snake fashion with a time trial start. The direction in each lane will be one way. Racers will swim 10 lenghts of 50 meters. Racers will go off in 5 second intervals and prior to the swim start you will be able to self seed yourself based on your 500 meter time. There is plenty of room in each lane for passing and flip turns at the wall will be allowed.

The Bike Course

The flat and fast bike course is made up of 3 loops inside the park. The Direction of the course is counter clockwise and will be controlled by the Eisenhower Park Security and will be closed to vehicle traffic. This is a draft-free event! You must know the rules! All athletes must have ansi-snell or CPSC approved helmets to participate. No Ipods of any type of Headphones are allowed while riding. This will result in an Automatic DQ.

Sunrise Tri Bike Shop will be on hand to proivde bike technical service for all racers

Route:

Out of the Transition Area Riders will make a Right Turn onto the Interior Park Road. This is a SLOW ZONE due to the narrowness of the road. This road will take you to Park Boulevard.
Riders will make a Right onto Park Boulevard.
Riders will make a U-Turn by the Entrance Gate to Hempstead Turnpike.
Riders will head North on Park Boulevard to the next turn around point.

2nd Loop

After completing your first loop proceed past the turn off and do a 2nd loop.

3rd Loop

After completing your second loop proceed past the turn off and do a 3rd loop.

Finish

After completing three loops you will head back to the Transition Area on the interior park road back to the Aquatics Center.
This again is a SLOW Zone. There is no passing in this area. Dismount your bike at the line and head back into the Transition Area.

The Run Course

The run course is two loops inside Eisenhower Park on the running paths. We'll have Water and Gu at each stop being handed out by some great volunteers.

Relays

There will be one Relay division this year. Relay teams can be made up of 2 or 3 person teams of either men or women. It's up to you how you want to divide up the Swim, Bike and Run.

Custom Awards

Overall Male
1st - 3rd will receive Medals.
Overall Female
1st - 3rd will receive Medals.
Age Group / Clydesdale / Athena
1st - 3rd will receive Medals.
Military Division
1st - 3rd will receive Medals.
Relay
1st - 3rd will receive Medals.

Out of respect for the other athletes, YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO RECEIVE YOUR AWARD. NO AWARDS WILL BE MAILED. Please note that if you race as a Clydesdayle, Athena or Military you are not eligible for an overall award.

Post Race Feast

What's Independence Day without a BBQ?? We'll be having a kick a$$ BBQ following the race for all race participants. Tickets are $10 per person.

Timing Services

Tri and Du It Multisport will be timing the event, utilizing the state of the art AMB ChipX Timing System. You'll receive 5 Splits: Swim Time, Transition 1, Bike, Transition 2, and Run times.

Massage

Free post race Massage.
