Race Event Information

The Wantagh Park Aquathlon is a short Swim / Run event featuring a short pool swim and a flat and fast run. Racers will swim in the Wantagh Park pool starting in a time trial format and snake swimming. Follwing the swim will be a 2 loop run for 2 miles. The Aquathlon provides a good speed workout for experienced mutlisport athletes and also offers and introduction to multisport for the newer athlete.

Course Details:

Swim:
The Swim will take place in the Wantagh Park Pool. Racers will swim 12 laps in a snake fashion for a total of 300 meters. The start of the swim will be done in a time trial format with 10 second intervals between swimmers.
Run:
The run course is a 2 mile run inside the park on the walking paths. Racers will have to complete two loops of the run before finishing. Please note that the paths are open to the public and it is your responsibility to race with caution.

Individual by 7/28/10 - $15
Individual by 8/11/10 - $20

Non USA Triathlon Members will be required to purchase a one day USAT License to race in this event. The cost is $10.

T-Shirt

Racers can pre-order a Custom Wantagh Park Aquathlon Technical T-shirt during online registration or on paper application. All shirt orders must be in by August 1, 2009. All shirts will be available for pick up on August 12, 2010 event.

Awards

Overall Male: 1st will receive Medals.
Overall Female: 1st will receive Medals.
Age Group: 1st - 3rd will received Medals.

Race Day Schedule:

5:00 PM: Transition Area Opens | Packet Pick up and Chip Pick up.
6:45 PM: Transition Area Closes
7:00 PM: Event Begins. First swimmer enters the water.
8:00 PM: Awards Presentation.

Refund / Transfer Policy:

There will be no refunds of Race Entry Fees. Further, if the race is cancelled due to weather, terrorism, an act of God or any other event beyond the control of Wantagh Park, Wantagh Park Staff, Nassau County Parks and Recreation, Tri and Du It Multisport, our Staff, Sponsors and volunteers, the entrant/athletes entry and associated fees will not be refunded. Your entry in the race denotes your agreement to these terms.
