The
Swim Course...
The 1500 Meter Swim takes place in the gorgeous Mirror Lake. The swim consists of two 750 meter rectangular loops for the long course and one loop for the short course. The swim begins with a mass start next to the swim dock for the short course race and the long course race in seperate waves. Racers will swim to the right of all bouys. Upon completing the first loop of the swim there is a short 100 foot run on the beach to re-enter the water and complete the same loop. Upon finishing the swim athletes will have to run 1/4 mile to the transition area in the Olympic Oval. There will be Lifeguard Support on Kayaks and Jet Skis as well as boats.
Run to Transition
It's a 1/4 mile run from the swim exit to the Transition Area in the Olympic Oval. You can choose to run barefoot or have sneakers at the swim exit.
The Bike Course
The new bike course is a 10.72 mile loop from the oval and back. Follow the Blue Bike Course Arrows. Short course racers will complete one loop of the course. Long Course racers will complete two loops of 8.72 miles in the golf course before riding back to the transition area for a total course mileage of 19.72 miles. The ride to the the golf course is 1 mile in length and leaves out of the back of the oval through the gate and crosses over Main Street. Riders will ride up Mirror Lake Drive and then make a Right onto Iroquois Road. Riders will make a right onto Cathedral Road and then a Left onto Cathedral Ct Way. From here riders will follow the golf cart path to the the cross over of Route 86. Once you cross over Route 86 you will enter into the golf course. The ride back to the transition area follows the same route as the ride in.

The Run Course
Run course is 2 loops (3.3 miles each loop)460 ft of ascent per loop= 920 ft of ascent total. This is a rolling course with some steep,short uphills and long up & down hills of low grade. It's made up of beautiful pine forest,single track hardwoods,short sections of pavement and a short swamp(50 meters)

The Run Course
The XTERRA Lake Placid Trail Run course takes place on the same run course as the triathlon. The run course consists of a 3.3 mile loop with the start and finish line located in the Oval. 10k runners will run into the Oval after the first loop for a spectator lap around the Oval and then head back out to do the same 5k run loop. 5k runners will enter the oval and do a lap around the oval and proceed into the finish line chute.
