XTERRA Lake Placid Triathlon

August 22, 2010


The 2nd Annual XTERRA Lake Placid Triathlon takes place in the gorgeous Olympic Town of Lake Placid, NY. Lake Placid is located in the heart of the Adirondacks and is about 2 and half hours north of Albany and South of Montreal. Lake Placid was host to the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games and wil once againl provide a great setting for this event.

New for 2010 is the Short Course race option in addition to the Long Course option. Racers in the short course will complete one loop of each part of the race.

We will be having a Great Post Race Feast in the Oval following the XTERRA Tri, so put this race on your calendar and come join us for the XTERRA Experience.

There will also be a Prize purse to be split by the top 5 Men and Women. Purse is $3000.

Only the XTERRA Lake Placid Long Course will be awarded XPS Points. The Short Course is just an ORT race.

If you are part of a Triathlon Team we will be having a Team Tailgate area for all teams to set up a Team Tent in the Olympic Oval.

5k and 10k Trail Run Events

August 21, 2010


On Saturday, the day prior the XTERRA Triathlon event we will be hosting a 5k and 10k Trail Runs on the same run course as the triathlon. The race will start and end inside the Olympic Oval and following the run will be a great breakfast, raffles and the awards ceremony.

There will also be a Prize purse to be split by the top 3 Men and Women in the 10k. Purse is $450.

XTERRA Lake Placid Triathlon Race Clinic

Taught by XTERRA ambassador Ken Robins. Ken is a 4 time regional champion who has qualified and competed in numerous national and world xterra championships. The clinic will be taught on Saturday the 30th from 12:00 to 1:30 You can come down and take the clinic then pick up your race packet for the race the next day. Ken will go over nutrition before, during and after race, transition setup, swim, bike and run tactics and a slow pre-ride of bike course. Plus he will show you alot of his own tricks that he uses during his races. So if you just want to finish your first race or beat that buddy or friend come on down to this free clinic.
