The XTERRA Lake Placid Trail Run takes place in Lake Placid, NY. The Start and Finish Line area and XTERRA Village will be in the Olympic Ice Skating Oval.
The race site is located about 2.5 hours North of Albany, NY and 2.5 hours South of Montral, CAN.

Date & Time...
Saturday, August 21, 2010. The Trail Run will be in a two wave format with the 10k run starting at 9:00 am and the 5k run starting at 9:05 am.
Race management reserves the right to modify or shorten the race course in the case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, and to accept or reject any entry. No transfers, substitutions. The minimum age to compete is 13.
Athletes MUST pick up their packets on either Friday, August 20th from 12-6 pm at the XTERRA Lake Placid Expo Area or on Race Morning, Saturday, August 21st at the XTERRA Lake Placid Expo Area between the hours of 7:00- 8:30 AM.
Parking Details...
All Athletes and Spectators must park their vehicles in designated parking spots in town.
The Run Course
The XTERRA Lake Placid Trail Run course takes place on the same run course as the triathlon. The run course consists of a 5k loop with the start and finish line located in the Oval. 10k runners will run into the Oval after the first loop for a spectator lap around the Oval and then head back out to do the same 5k run loop. 5k runners will enter the oval and do a lap around the oval and proceed into the finish line chute.
XTERRA Lake Placid Triathlon Race Clinic | Saturday, August 21, 2010
Taught by XTERRA ambassador Ken Robins. Ken is a 4 time regional champion who has qualified and competed in numerous national and world xterra championships. The clinic will be taught on Saturday the 30th from 12:00 to 1:30 You can come down and take the clinic then pick up your race packet for the race the next day. Ken will go over nutrition before, during and after race, transition setup, swim, bike and run tactics and a slow pre-ride of bike course. Plus he will show you alot of his own tricks that he uses during his races. So if you just want to finish your first race or beat that buddy or friend come on down to this free clinic. Ken will open it up to all questions and help you with your transition area. Contact Ken at champxterra@yahoo.com to let him know you will be attending. XTERRA Lake Placid Swim Clinic | Friday, August 20 and Saturday August 21, 2009
Total Immersion of Lake Placid, NY will be leading two swim clinics during the weekend. More information and times will be posted soon.
Meeting place will be at the Mirrior Lake beach.

Please note that if you race as a Clydesdayle or Athena you are not eligible for an overall award.

Timing Services
Tri and Du It Multisport will be timing the event, utilizing the state of the art AMB ChipX Timing System. You'll receive 5 Splits: Swim Time, Transition 1, Bike, Transition 2, and Run times.
